  • For this question, I want a list of at least 100 items you can find in an attic-- without getting too generic. For example, I know that you can find cobwebs, spiders, floorboards, old nails, etc. But what SPECIFIC bric-a-brac might I find in an old attic? Thanks

  • Hello griffith933-ga;

I just came down from the attic and I have a list of 100 things. Here goes:

Small appliances (coffee pot, blender, can opener)

    Pottery, china, earthenware

    Utensils

    Plastic flowers/artificial plants

    Rugs

    Old Broom

    Fan

    Portable heater

    Candles

    Lamps

    Lantern

    Red Rider BB gun

    Old batteries

    Preserved/canned goods

    Recipes

    Tablecloth

    Towels

That ugly thing your mother gave us that we put on the table whenever she visits

    Baby clothes, shoes and linens

    Building blocks

    Pacifier

    Baby crib

Box with baby teeth, rattle and that beaded wristband from the hospital in it.

    Baseball equipment (balls, bats, gloves)

Old toys (rocking horse, train set, broken plastic Mattel things, and part of an old robot)
Box containing what?s left of an old school project (and what looks like the rest of that robot)
    High school yearbooks

    Prom dress

    Wedding dress

Funny old hats (some of them are mine and the rest are your grandma?s)

Shoes, boots and one red flip-flop

Someone?s rotten corsage (can?t remember who exactly)

Fishing pole, tackle box and an old net

A badly bent golf club (I hated that darn game ? still do.)

A stuffed fish (I caught it)

A stuffed animal head (Got it at a yard sale ? hey I thought it was cool looking.)

Old tent, hammock and some other camping stuff.

    Skis and snowshoes

Snow shovel (Hey! THAT?S where that snow shovel is!)

Old coats on an antique wooden coat rack

    Umbrellas

    Hangers

Boxes of ?stuff? that looks like someone dumped the junk drawer in them

    Comics

    A VERY old radio

    A not-so-old but not-so-good TV

    Artificial Christmas tree, and stand

    Wreaths

    Christmas lights, balls and decorations

A plastic Rudolph-the-red-nosed reindeer (sans the red nose).

    A big plastic Santa Claus

    That disgusting pink flamingo

    A piece of water hose

    Wind chimes

A wasp nest (that spray is up here somewhere too I bet)

    That old green chair.

Some fireplace tools, and a torn fireplace screen (I?m aiming to fix that by the way)
    Chimney brush

Two extra bags of shingles (didn?t need them at the time but they may come in handy someday if we ever have a bad storm)
    Wicker baskets

Some kind of big plastic egg (an Easter thing I guess)

    Halloween decorations

    Thanksgiving decorations

Birthday party decorations (gee, we had decorations for EVERTHING didn?t we?)

A bag containing rolls of wrapping paper for every holiday occasion

    A bicycle tire (I don?t know; don?t ask.)

Yarn, knitting and sewing stuff (even an old sewing machine is up here)

    Blankets

    Quilts

    An ugly example of macramé

Several half done needlepoint efforts in those metal rings

    A small corner shelf

A small dresser with half the white porcelain knobs broken or missing

Girlie books (uh?they were my dad?s)

Flashlight (yeah, ok, THAT was mine)

    Cigar box

Salt and pepper shakers (A ceramic red rooster and a red chicken)

A cookie jar full of Green Stamps (Remember those? When I complained about being bored my Mom used say, ?Here, I?ve got something for you to do?, and she?d make me sit there for hours and lick them and stick them in those books just so I?d shut up?yuck)
A jewelry box with a pound of my grandma?s Sunday jewelry (fake pearls, clip on earrings, and brooches)
My grandma?s neatly folded lace handkerchiefs inside a dusty vinyl purse

My grandmother?s Bible (Man, I miss her)

An old trunk with stickers on it from everywhere my granddad traveled

Inside it is my granddad?s medals

    His pocket watch

    His old Navy uniform

    A carefully folded American flag

Basically what you?d find in ?my? attic is ME. Everything in my attic is everything that I am.
I hope you find that my answer exceeds your expectations. Thank you for bringing your request to us. For reasons known but to me, I would imagine that I enjoyed it much more than you did.

  • I'm not sure what it is. I guess it would best be classified as "art". It looks like a fishbowl filled with a bunch of multicolored glass marbles that have all been mashed flat. Similar to this but much larger and MUCH uglier: http://www.soapandcandlemaker.com/isroot/SiteImages/ProductImages/09101.jpg
