Dance remixes for nightclub; seeking links for MP3s Best answer on the web

  • Hi there -

I own a trendy cocktail lounge and am seeking a high volume (200+) of tracks that are basically high BMP remixes/white labels of popular 80's and 90's dance songs - e.g. Bjork, Depeche Mode, Ace of Base, Erasure, even Alanis Morisette. Generally with a quick dance beat where the original song is almost part of the background. The result takes a somewhat cheesy music select and makes it very trendy.
My main selection to date has come from a web site called power-mix.com/ec/pc/about.html. I don't mind paying for the MP3s (power-mix charges $2.49 each), I'm just not able to find enough that fit our needs.
An example of good songs for us is: http://www.power-mix.com/ram/uc47-5.ram
    and http://www.power-mix.com/ram/uc106-8.ram

I'm basically looking for locations where I can purchase more of these types of tracks.
$10 for a link to a site that has this kind of music that I can purchase online, $50 for a connection to a DJ or similar that can help me build the entire library.
    Thanks!

  • You might try getting in touch with some of the DJs found at http://www.thedjlist.com/. Especially try under http://www.thedjlist.com/djs/genre/, which will help you find the right DJ according to style.
Some Free Stuff (in case you ever want original work):
"1 Million Free and Legal Music Tracks" offers a plethora of listings, most likely including sites with DJ/trance/dance music, too. Check it out at http://www.redferret.net/pmwiki/pmwiki.php.
People forget that Amazon.com actually offers free music downloads for a number of things. Check that out at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?link_code=ur2&tag=leliathomasco-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&path=tg%2Fbrowse%2F-%2F468890%2Fref%3Dj_jh_lnb_ddj You'll need an Amazon.com account to download anything.
GarageBand offers a whole bunch of creative, unique musicians to choose from--many with downloads available. You can check out the dance section at http://www.garageband.com/genre/dance I think you'll need to register here as well.

  • There's a DJ at Soulseek called DJswerve (I think that's right) that has what you want. I checked for him to confirm the name but couldn't find him.
    This *might* be him:

In any event, the guy at soulseek has hundreds, maybe thousands of hours of fantastic stuff. Join soulseek (it's free) and start watching for him in the Techno/Trance rooms. He has a lot of Tribal music that I like, but he has all styles of club music, all on MP3.
